Dyme Def - For The World

This is my all time favorite song that illustrates “motherly love”, and my third favorite song by Dyme Def…which is definitely saying something since Dyme Def has a lot of really outstanding songs.  This is off their solid album Space Music. Happy mothers day and what not.

“Still another day but not any other day

See its mothers day, gone tell my mother hey

You hear me momma, you was my girl

And the memories we shared, I wouldn’t change that for the world”

Thomax - Fire For The People [Remix] (ft. Blue Scholars)

Thomax’s The REMIX-Files Vol. 7 came out a few months ago, and the first time I listened to it back to front, I had to go back to this song to listen to it on repeat for a few times.  It’s a really chill song that’s laced with some standardly thought provoking lyrics by Geologic.  The song is pretty damn beautiful.  You should definitely light up some fire before listening to this.  Thomax is without exaggeration my all time favorite remix artist. Each new The REMIX-Files he releases always consists of at least one song that will blow your mind, and you’ll never find a bad track in the mix.  It’s If you never heard of Thomax and his remixes then I recommend looking him up and downloading everything hes ever made…trust me, just do it.  You wont be disappointed.  http://www.thomax.org/

Asher Roth - Insurance (ft. ZZ Ward, Rockie Fresh, & Blu)

This is one of the standout songs on Asher Roth’s 2011 mixtape Pabst & Jazz, which is definitely saying something, since I deemed it the best mixtape of 2011.  I honestly can’t believe how consistent Asher Roth has become.  His debut album left me wondering what was to become of his future.  He has definitely sharpened his hip-hop skills since then, and has simply been making great song after great song.  He’s obviously taking a more organic rout and is definitely against the idea of taking the common path of selling out.  He could have a bigger fan base if he had more of a hip-pop sound, but that doesn’t seem to bother him. Pabst & Jazz is really damn intelligent, and has many great features, solid beats, and an overall amazing vibe. I’m extremely glad Asher Roth is striving to be known while avoiding another song like “I Love College”.

If you haven’t checked out Pabst & Jazz yet, I highly recommend you do.
